Is it me or is this cedar tree trying to reach out the newly planted 'baby' tree?
There were 3 smaller trees planted this year, each beside a bigger and more mature tree but yet only one tried to make contact...
I didn't know whether to believe this someone but I became more curious. Do trees have feelings? Was this tree showing motherly instincts? Was it trying to protect the smaller tree? ...

I was wondering why the others didn't do this. Was it because this was a female tree? Someone told me it was because there were cone buds on it. The others didn't appear to have these.
